+ 10 - 2 | § ¶0.9 What's up?
I just wanted to post an update on what's happening with jPodder 0.9. Well in short - A LOT! We have many of the proposed features and surely overpass in some areas. The new features are truely amazing! We are putting the last hand to it and the beta release should be out in a week or so...No firm promisses as there are still things to fix. Here is a list of what is already coded, and what is still to be done. If you send us an e-mail or post on the forum for small changes, we are allways open to minor additions.
Here you go!, this is already coded:
- We have a Linux distribution, fully tested and working well!
- The feed table can be sorted by clicking on the table header.
- You can get detailed information on the RSS feed, a new tab will be opened showing all the RSS stuff.
- We added Feed authentication, put authentication on your feed and jpodder will ask for a uid/password
- Proxy authentication support. (Not tested, I don't have such a proxy), someone asked for this.
- We now have a media player plugin function! There is already one in development for Creative Nomad player (Will be release separatly). plugins are loaded automaticly.
- We can associate MIME types with media playeres. (Interface in development).
- We have a podcast production environment, you create a feed, add enclosures, edit ID3, upload with FTP , edit RSS with build-in editor!
- Improved download table with actions, you can retry a download or jump to the feed.
- More control of torrent and performance improvements, you can start/stop torrents or all of them, you can control start seeding when you restart jpodder.
- We support i18n! (Translators needed!)
In development:
- Settable Connection timout value. (It's now code to 5 seconds but this is sometimes to low as we experienced).
- Visualize the MIME type mappings
